Harbor View House
Welcome to the Living Museum Art Center
The
Living Museum Art Center is a dynamic program at Harbor View House, a
non-profit organization. Modeled after the Living Museum at Creedmoor’s
Psychiatric Center in New York, our program enhances the creative expression
of the mentally ill by providing a therapeutically enhanced system of
studios and an opportunity to work professionally in painting, ceramics,
photography, sculpture, drawing and mixed media.
"We are teaching our clients how to tap into their strengths through creative communication. They are given the opportunity to re-identify themselves as artist. This is our ultimate goal,” says Vernon Gettys, Chief Executive Officer of HealthView, Inc.
The goal of the Living Museum Art Center is to provide a professionally therapeutic environment that allows full expressive involvement in the visual arts and promotes the artists’ work in professional and alternative spaces within the South Bay and greater Los Angeles arts communities. The Living Museum Art Center is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. under the direction of mental health professionals.

Teaching
our clients how to tap into their strengths through creative communication
is one of the major goals of the Living Museum Art Center at Harbor
View House. Each year we produce a calendar that celebrates and
showcases the creative spirit of the many talented artists who
have emerged through this program. You can help support the Living
Museum Art Center by ordering your calendar or becoming a page
sponsor.
