HealthView
Behavioral Services Center

BSC Community members enjoying field trip on boatHealthView Behavioral Services Center (HVBSC) is an outpatient mental health clinic providing mental health, case management and socialization services for consumers from Harbor View House, as well as the surrounding community. HVBSC operates under contract with the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health.

Services are based on the individuals own goals, diagnosis, functional impairment, symptoms, disabilities, life conditions, and rehabilitation readiness. The primary purpose of the Center is to assist consumers in achieving their highest level of functioning in the community.

The Wellness Center

The Wellness Center is designed to infuse our entire system with the philosophy and principles of recovery. It will provide supportive services (from professional staff operating within their field of expertise) that are similar to those of the clinic (medication support, targeted case management [community referrals], individual and group therapy, psych testing, and crisis support [when necessary]; however, it will only be available to clients that have exhibited a desire (and desire) to integrate into community, and have decreased their need for intensive case management (utilizing the Milestone of Recovery Scale to determine the client’s level of wellness/stage of recovery).

The intent is to provide a place where clients support each other and receive services in order to assist each other in maintaining their current level of care in the community. The other caveat that separates the Wellness Center from the Behavioral Services Center, is the Wellness Center will provide client operated services (with the assistance of a certified peer advocate). Clients will be encouraged to assist other clients in achieving community reintegration, wellness, and meaningful social connections.
