Harbor View House
Adult Residential Facility (ARF)

New resident being greeted into ARF programHarbor View House operates an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) for ambulatory adults 18 years and older, who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.

Licensed by the Dept. of Social Services (Lic. #191601918) it has a maximum bed capacity of 204, the largest of its kind in the state. The majority of residents are entitled to receive Federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and pay a fee for services.

Harbor View House is provider of long term residential care and offers programs and services which address the personal, psychological, health and psychiatric needs of adult residents who are severely and persistently mentally ill. Most bedding, linens, laundry facilities, furniture, cleaning services, medication supervision and a personal money management program are provided. Three nutritional meals and a snack are planned daily by a registered dietitian on staff and served in a cafeteria setting. Transportation is provided to Social Security Offices and medical appointments. Calendars of activities, outings, classes, religious services and special events are posted in the lobby and throughout the building. The monthly resident council meeting gives consumers the opportunity to express their feelings to staff who utilize their recommendations to improve resident services.

Upon admission an individualized care plan is developed which includes personal objectives and goals to help guide the resident's activities during his/her stay. Two psychiatrists are available in addition to a group of psychologists and interns who work with residents on an individual basis or in small group therapy sessions.

In some cases a resident's stay can be paid by State Disability Benefits, Veterans Benefits or private pay.
